High School America is devoted to reinforcing the importance of the high school education and experience in the functioning of American democracy, to ensuring the relevance of American high schools to the future needs of the Nation, to expanding the friendships forged with exchange students in the continuing conduct of the Nation’s foreign policy, and to improving the facilities, courses, and programs of America’s high schools.

Why would a new organization like High School America be needed? 
Because high schools are too important to be left solely in the hands of professional educators.
